We survived Covid.
What a year.
Congratulations to the students and teachers who taught, participated on zoom classes. It definitely wasn’t like being in the studio but there were some ups to it like saying hello to parents, seeing the pets, being able to see how the body alignment wasn’t correct in the video.
Looking forward to 2021
Congratulations to the students who sat their CSTD Jazz exams. Another year of fabulous results. A testament to their teacher Sarah Lowcock and their ballet training. For only the second year of doing the exams, a total of 2 highly commends, 5 Honours and 6 Honours plus (honours plus being 95-100 marks)
Students from the school took the opportunity to take class with some of Australia's fabulous dancers. Mia and Alice in Grade 4 took class with Brett Chenowyth, currently a Senior Soloist with the Australian Ballet Company. Mya, Steph, Kira and Madeleine took the Grade 5/6 class and Leah took the majors class, both taught by Juliet Burnett, who has just left the Australian Ballet Company. The girls have a marvellous time. Photos on the Events Photo Page
The Jazz concert will be on Sunday August 21st at 2pm. Venue - St Bernard's College, Niddrie.
Essendon_Academy_of_ballet is the instagram account. Here you will find photos of students taken throughout the week. As you will notice the younger students do not have their face showing and the older students may if they agree to it.
Lauren Febbraio, Tracy Febbraio, Kate Pyke, Lauren West, Georgina Heard, Emily Heard, Madeleine Causon and Michela Dent-Causon are heading to Brisbane June 28th to see the International renowned dancers Tamara Rojo and Carlos Acosta (from The Royal Ballet Company in England) as they guest in Kenneth MacMillans Romeo & Juliet that Qld Ballet are performing.
7 students from grade 4, 5 and 6 participated in exams in May 2014 for teachers who are upgrading their teaching qualifications within Cecchetti Ballet International. Thankyou to those students for taking time out of your school day to help others.
